Last Monday, Helen Westover was handcuffed and arrested because she had the courage to publicly display a five foot sign of Malachi, an abortion victim. The police later said that we should have checked with them prior to conducting a demonstration (which is guaranteed under the first amendment!)
The action taken by the Yorkton Heights Police Dept. does not merely effect one individual, but rather attacks the entire prolife community, and is an assault upon the Constitution of the United States, spcifically freedom of speech and political protest. If you care about those basic values, then get involved. Show up on August 10th, to show your support for Helen and opposition to a wrongful, unconstitutional arrest.
Also, why not submit a letter to the local newspaper in Yorktown Heights, and or call in to a talk radio program? Why not appear in court with a t-shirt which states your position? If anyone has ideas for a t-shirt, or any other suggestion, I would like to hear them.
Opposition to four thousand murders a day, and the preservation of our rights to political protest and freedom of speech are issues far to important to sit idly by and take for granted. We need to do more than thank Helen, we need to stand beside her.

The Witchita 12

Recently twelve brave soliers of Chrst were arrested and imprisoned for their apostolic work in Witchita. Those events should send a battle cry throughout the nation for pro-lifers to support those people. For those who reside too far to travel to Witchita, why not send each of them a letter of encouragement? Why not send $1.00 for them to purchase commissary while imprisoned? We can also send letters to the editor of Wichita newspapers.
Those who reside within driing distance of Witchita should consider participating in daily pickets of the jail, and the residences of the Chief of Police and the District Attorney as well as in front of their offices. Bumper stickers, t-shirts, signs and banners can also be used to bring attention to this issue. How about call-ins to local radio stations?
It is a mistake for us to continue thinkig solely in terms of our individual groups and organizations, or even in a regional sense. Of course, everything said about Witchita can and should be applied to Yorktown Heights on behalf of Helen Westover who is facing persecution on behalf of the unborn.

Face The Truth; or Malachi held hostage AGAIN

Monday, June 14, 2004:
This morning, Jerry and I went to Tarrytown, where the cops had given him a really hard time before. Since then, they clearly did some research on the law. Great when cops do that. Jerry was strategically placed with the video camera, I was out with Malachi, and had a recorder in my pocket. Well, they treated me like royalty. Just wanted me to know that they knew that I was within my rights, Ma'am - no problem here, just stay off the street, OK? No problem.

I stayed for about 45 minutes, and heard the same old things - it's as if wherever I go, the same people seem to be there, and all say the same things. But one man, a Cuban refugee, went off - but in favor of FTT. He said that he couldn't for the life of him fathom why a woman would allow such a thing to be done to her baby. His wife had, he told me, burst into tears at the sight of Mal. His opinion on the fate of women who had abortions was grim, so I will not go into detail. But he thanked us for making people Face the Truth.

Then, I decided to go to my hometown, Yorktown Heights, in upper Westchester. Jerry positioned himself to film me, and I was at a major intersection, for quite a while. Actually received many positive responses. One, however, burned itself into me; a young woman, looking at Mal, began to weep; I don't know if she was weeping out of compassion, or because she had had an abortion herself. Many criticize FTT because we can have this effect on post-aborted women. Yet, close to 90% now of all abortions are repeat, birth control abortions. Perhaps is is not a bad thing at all, to have everyone, including the post aborted, Face The Truth as well.. I no longer believe that women don't know what they're doing. They do. But to protect their promiscuous lifestyle, they don't care. This was the thrust of the March for Murder.

Then, came the cops. He called me over to the car, and asked, “Don't you need a permit for this?”. I said, no, I don't think so. He called both Town Hall, and his superiors to ascertain whether this was true. He got bad advice. YES they all said, “she needs a permit.” I responded, “ I don't believe that my First Amendment rights are cancelled by ANY local ordinance, and I KNOW I do NOT need a permit to stand on the sidewalk with a sign.” He said, “Look, do you want to make a big thing of this?” I said, No, certainly not. “Why don't you go to Town Hall, and get a permit?” “Because I don't need one, Officer. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to my corner to picket”. He said, “No you're not. I need to arrest you. Do you want that?” “No I don't; but this is a matter of principle, and I'm not going to give in.” So it was, “put your hands on the car,” and I was handcuffed, and stuffed into the police car. We had been making small talk while he was waiting for an answer, and I found out that his 11 year daughter just started piano lessons; I gave him some advice on what to look for in a teacher, and he seemed to appreciate it. Except for making the cuffs too tight, he was a perfect gentleman.

At the PD, I was searched, and handcuffed to the bench for the entire time. Yet everyone was friendly. When the confiscated Mal, I began to get upset though. Not again!

Another Malachi is languishing in a back room in Millbrook, having been taken away from Jerry. I said, to the photographer, and the arresting officer, (Mike), “You realize this is a PHOTOGRAPH.again” The said they did. I said, “Yes, he was taken from a dumpster in Texas.” No comment. Of course, they had to be non-commital, yet I didn't want them to sleep too well tonight.

I was charged with demonstrating without a permit, a total non-offense. I am to appear in court on August 10, to pay the fine, which of course I will not pay. We have contacted Chris Ferrara and I'll let you know where it goes from here.

Face The Truth - Scripturewall (postscript)

Tuesday, June 8, 2004:
The woman who stared at Malachi was 2 months pregnant. She was driven to Good Counsel in Brooklyn, where she, and her baby, are safe.

Malachi will one day be recognized as the one little life, the one little death, that galvanized a people, seared the conscience of a nation, and saved his own brothers and sisters.

Face The Truth - Scripturewall Tuesday

June 8, 2004:
Today, I decided to to to Planned Parenthood (PP) in Poughkeepsie, where the Scripturewall (founded by Father Francis McCloskey) was operating. Scripturewall is a combination prayer service and sidewalk counseling method, which has been very effective in actually saving babies. One method that seems to work is for the majority to pray and counsel in front of the place of child-sacrifice, and for others to go to the corner with the atrocity signs, in an effort to head mothers off before they even get close. Fr. Francis and the Scripturewall gang are there every Tuesday, rain or snow. I have gone only occasionally, but I will try to match their dedication.

Jerry and I went to opposite corners, both of us with dear Malachi. Unusually supportive stuff went on on my end. Two thumbs up at separate times. A young woman came over, and looked sadly at Malachi. I began to explain his origin, (a dumpster in Texas), and then Rich Van Slambrouk came over, and talked to her more. This resulted in the woman going off to the Crisis Pregnancy Center with Audry Mondello! Who knew? This is what Scripturewall does best.

Then it got

A lady cop (oxymoron of oxymorons - plus she herself is a moron) with whom I had problems before at the city high school, pulled up while I was conferring with Rich. She takes either testosterone shots in tbe morning, or she wears a patch. Anyway, they had received a complaint about my being on the main business street, Market, which is adjacent to PP. I introduced myself, but she hadn't forgotten, apparently. Then she began to make noise like I didn't belong on Market St., and that I am a lot of trouble(!). I said, “I know you think I cause trouble, but unfortunately for you, I don't break the law, ever.” Then she decided to talk about me to Rich. This was pure harrassment, as I told her superior about 5 minutes later (her superior got nasty with me when I told him that I want this woman to leave me alone or I'll sue for harrassment. He hung up on me.) while I marched all over market street.

Yes, thanks to the Bimbo/Cop-ett, I got the idea to do a Face the Truth in front ot Social Services, the County office building, and several shops - The place where the movers and shakers of Dutchess County go to conduct business. Why hadn't I done this before? (Slap to head)

Finished, I went back to the others to find out that the cop who hung up on me had come to PP to talk to me. Keystone Kop - I was right around the corner, where the complaint had come from in the first place. KK must have just missed me. So I called back, and said that I would wait for a while for KK, but that I did have to get to work, and after all, I wish always to cooperate with Poughkeepsie's Finest! He didn't show, so I left my card with Rich so KK could give me a call.

The First of Many Home Pickets of Child Killers and Their Little Helpers

Friday, June 4, 2004:
STOPP went to the home of the new President of the New NOW of Dutchess county, which is comprised of six old ladies and a few college students. Jennifer Shagan is the president, she of the TV show that we were both on three years ago. On that show, she distinguished herself by claiming that the homosexual community was 20% of the population. The moderator, pointing to a NY Times article which said that the number was 10% or below, demurred. Jennifer's rejoinder was “Well, I learned that in a class!”

Then, as I cited data about the genocide taking place, and how it's done, she answered by whining about “Choice” and “Woman's Rights” and how we're losing all of them, which will apparantly result in women in Poughkeepsie soon being forced to wear Burkas.

When the Partial Birth Abortion ban was overturned by the federal court, Jennifer was interviewed, and declared it good; “Women need to have control over their bodies” she peeped.

I know where she lives, having given her kids piano lessons, and having taken some unwanted hamsters off her hands... I brought Emily, the unborn girl who had her head torn off to secure women's rights, and a sign designed by our little signmaker, Maeghan MacDougall, which said, “SHAGAN'S CHOICE”.

Jen wasn't home, but the neighbors were. Cell phones were whipped out, cops called - nothing. It is important when picketing a home, not to stay in front of the targeted residence for too long... law says you have to keep moving. I know it, and so do the police... Which was fine with me. Now the neighborhood knows what Jennifer stands for- beheading.

STOPP will return with Malachi, the most effective of all signs. We will call first, to insure that she is home.

Home Picket Thursday

June 03, 2004:
I will be picketing Jennifer Shagan's house sometime this week; she is the lady you see debating me on that OLD show, head of DC NOW. She was quoted in the paper as being thrilled that babies can continue to have their heads pierced without anesthesia. I will be holding Emily (the beheaded little girl) and a sign saying “Shagan's
