Last Monday, Helen Westover was handcuffed and arrested because she had the courage to publicly display a five foot sign of Malachi, an abortion victim. The police later said that we should have checked with them prior to conducting a demonstration (which is guaranteed under the first amendment!)
The action taken by the Yorkton Heights Police Dept. does not merely effect one individual, but rather attacks the entire prolife community, and is an assault upon the Constitution of the United States, spcifically freedom of speech and political protest. If you care about those basic values, then get involved. Show up on August 10th, to show your support for Helen and opposition to a wrongful, unconstitutional arrest.
Also, why not submit a letter to the local newspaper in Yorktown Heights, and or call in to a talk radio program? Why not appear in court with a t-shirt which states your position? If anyone has ideas for a t-shirt, or any other suggestion, I would like to hear them.
Opposition to four thousand murders a day, and the preservation of our rights to political protest and freedom of speech are issues far to important to sit idly by and take for granted. We need to do more than thank Helen, we need to stand beside her.

One suggestion: for those reading who live far away from Yorktown Heights, and who might not even know where Yorktown Heights is, how about providing the street addresses, e-mail addresses, the call-in numbers of the local radio stations (or at least the names of the stations), etc. so people will be more motivated to act?

Also, how would one go about sending comissary money to the people arrested in Wichita?

Helen and I each live over an hour from Yorktown. We have conducted FTT outside of our area for over two months in an attempt to spread the message beyond our routine audience. There are however pro-life groups in neighboring municipalities whom I hoped could provide us with that information. It is further hoped that they will follow our lead and continue FTT demonstrations throughout Westchester County.

As far as Witchita is concerned, I learned of that from another pro-life email list. I forwarded that letter to them in an effort to obtain that information. I expect those who wrote the original letter should be capable of furnishing us with that information. I will keep you posted. Thank you.

I have a model for a T shirt which shows a ProLife Child, and a ProChoice Child with the question, What is The Right Choice.
I would like to know where I can get them made up so we can show the world the horror of abortion.
PGH
